faces

faces

faces

.

orange black

of

life jackets

separates the fear

or

 defiance

.

the exhaustion

the will to survive

.

new world starting

in a rubber boat

gently rocking

when

a man

eagerly hangs out a baby

to an overwhelmed

coast guard

.

and

a face of a father

insane with grief

and a

toddler

sleeping forever on the Turkish beach

.

I see

.

I cannot comprehend

all these beautiful faces

.

safe in my home

autumn

wind outside

a melody of a dishwasher downstairs

and familiar scents

.

What exactly am I doing?
